How the boards are scored

First buys are judged by what they unlock for looting and by the cash on the shop table. Later unlocks are judged by when the price stops making sense for a new bank. If two shops list different prices, the lower one is the figure used for the early board.

A tier

later-unlocksM4A1Armory rifle at $3,100. The Weaponry pass or a level unlocks the right to buy it. The cash price remains.

Player decision The standard rifle once a pistol and a bank buffer already exist. Not a first withdrawal.

B tier

later-unlocksSuper-ShortyArmory shotgun at $850, also on the Weaponry pass list. Still a cash purchase.

Player decision A mid price between the first pistol and the M4A1 if you want a close shotgun and the row is unlocked.

Player decision Buy when blackouts are costing you deaths, not on the first night.

C tier

Is an A tier the strongest weapon?

No. S is unused on purpose. A means the item does a documented job at a price a new player can actually reach, or, on the later board, it is the standard armory rifle once you can unlock it.
